Medical Examiner Identifies Murdered Man

The 24-year-old Minneapolis man was found late Friday morning.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has identified the murdered man found in a south Minneapolis alley as a 24-year-old Minneapolis man.

Derek Allen Holt died of a gunshot wound to the head at 11:05 a.m. Friday, according to the medical examiner. He died at 3912 Blaisdell Ave. S.

Officers went to the alley Friday in response to a report of a man with a head injury. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The medical examiner has determined that the death is a homicide. The Minneapolis Police Department and the medical examiner continue their investigations.
