The Timberwolves finished the season with the seventh-best record in the western conference, but we don't get to claim the 7th seed just yet.
On Tuesday, the Wolves will play the Los Angeles Clippers, who finished with the eighth-best record in the conference. The winner of that game will officially make the playoffs and face the No. 2 seed in the Memphis Grizzles.

The loser of the Wolves-Clippers game will play the winner of the New Orleans Pelicans (No. 9) and San Antonio Spurs (No. 10).
Whichever team wins that game will go on to play the No. 1 seed in the Pheonix Suns.
The Wolves will get a home-court advantage throughout the play-in game.
