Major League Baseball owners and players agreed to terms of a new contract, and there will be Minnesota Twins baseball in 2022 afterall.
MINNEAPOLIS — There will be Minnesota Twins baseball this year after all. Major League Baseball owners and players agreed to terms of a new contract, ending the work stoppage that lasted 99 days and salvaging the entire 162 game season.
"I do want to start by apologizing to our fans," MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said Friday. "I hope that the players will see the effort we made to address their concerns in this agreement as an olive branch in terms of building a better relationship."
Under the new deal, the designated hitter will be expanded to the National League, and the playoffs will be expanded from 10 teams to 12 teams. There will also be advertisements on uniforms, and intradivision play will be reduced in 2023.

The schedule below includes both spring training games and regular-season games. The Twins' opening day regular game is on April 7 against the Seattle Mariners.
Despite high expectations, the Twins finished last in the American League Central division last season, ending with a dismal record of 73-89.

The Twins are +750 to win the Central Division in 2022 and are expected to win about 88 games, according to Vegas Insider.
