MN State Fair Cannot Allow Guns On Fairgrounds: Judge
A judge rejected the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus' request that fair officials allow permit holders to carry pistols on the fairgrounds.
TWIN CITIES, MN — Gun owners will not be allowed to carry their pistols at the Minnesota State Fair after a Ramsey County judge rejected a request for a temporary injunction, the Pioneer Press reported.
District Judge Laura Nelson ruled that the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus failed to meet its burden of proof that the fair's long-standing gun ban violates state law, the newspaper reported.
The group contended that the ban violates Americans' Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, as well as state laws allowing permit holders to carry their guns in public, according to the Pioneer Press.
