NOAA Releases 2019-2020 Winter Forecast: What Minnesota Will Get
Here is the official National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration forecast for this winter.
MINNESOTA — Winter will be warmer than normal for some parts of the country this year, but not Minnesota. We're likely for a wetter, snowier-than-average winter, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Climate Prediction Center.
However, it may not be particularly cold.
"Wetter-than-average conditions are most likely in Alaska and Hawaii this winter, along with portions of the Northern Plains, Upper Mississippi Valley, the Great Lakes and parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast," NOAA said in its 2019-2020 winter forecast, released Thursday.

"No part of the U.S. is favored to have below-average temperatures this winter."

We could see a roller coaster of temperatures this winter, as well.

"Without either El Nino or La Nina conditions, short-term climate patterns like the Arctic Oscillation will drive winter weather and could result in large swings in temperature and precipitation," said Mike Halpert, deputy director of NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center.
