MINNEAPOLIS — Hundreds of people gathered in downtown Minneapolis on Saturday and in another location Sunday night after city police killed Amir Locke, a 22-year-old Black man.

Locke was fatally shot Wednesday after a SWAT team entered his apartment via a no-knock warrant. Locke's parents, Andre Locke and Karen Wells, say their son was killed after being awakened from a deep sleep and reached for a legal firearm in order to protect himself.
