According to the criminal complaint, signed by Minneapolis Police Sgt. Brian Carlson, police were called to a pair of apartment burglaries in the 100 block of 19th Street East in Minneapolis on May 23.

A woman who lives in one of the apartments told police that she had gotten off a bus and was walking home when Jones approached her from behind and began making “rude and vulgar” remarks, including, “You’re looking sexy. I want to take you up to your apartment and tear you open. You don’t have to tell your boyfriend about it,” according to the complaint.

The woman rebuffed Jones, entered her apartment and shut the door behind her. Shortly afterward, she said, she heard a noise, looked up and saw Jones standing in front of her, asking her, “Do you want to [expletive]?”

The woman told police that she was able to push Jones out of her apartment.

Police also spoke to a man who lives in another apartment at the same address. He told officers that he was asleep, but woke up to find his underwear pulled down and Jones performing oral sex on him.

The victim told Jones to leave his apartment, and he left.

Both victims reported that they were missing personal belongings after Jones’ uninvited visits, including a camera and several computers.

When police arrested Jones, they found a camera and computers in his backpack, the complaint says. He told police that he had been inside the apartment complex and that he had knocked on both apartment doors, then went inside to check on the residents’ welfare because he wants to be a police officer, according to the complaint.
