Of Wabasha Street Caves, the Thrillist editors said:
“Our favorite Minnesota haunt, Forepaugh's Restaurant, recently closed. Luckily, Minnesota is home to as many haunts as it is lakes. One of the creepiest—and most accessible—is Wabasha Street Caves.”

HGTV agrees, stating:
“During Prohibition, these former mining caves in St. Paul were turned into a speakeasy that became a hotspot for gangsters including John Dillinger and Ma Barker. Rumor has it that three gangsters who were gunned down in the caves are buried under the floors. Though the bodies haven’t been found, you can see the bullet holes from the incident during a tour of the caves.”
Business Insider says St. Paul’s Fitzgerald Theater is the most haunted in Minnesota:
“The Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, Minnesota, is the oldest surviving theater in the city and its long history carries some ghost stories with it.”
Forbes says St. Paul’s Forepaugh House, which “stands as a testament to heartbreak. Joseph Forepaugh, the owner, engaged in an illicit affair with a housemaid, and both are said to have met a tragic end. Patrons often recount encountering the couple, especially the housemaid, who showcases her displeasure with loud bangs and shattered glass.”
