Want Input on Linden Hills' Development Plan?

After months of preliminary work, the Linden Hills Neighborhood Council (LHiNC) is poised to launch the very first public phase of a process that will ultimately create a plan to guide future neighborhood development.

Sept. 23, the public will be invited to an open house at from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to find out more about the development plan, called a According to an announcement from the City of Minneapolis, whose planners are working with the neighborhood group to write the plan, topics discussed will include: 

The purpose of the open house will be to provide information on the small area plan process, the need for a small area plan in Linden Hills, solicit community input on whether the small area planning process should move forward, and whether to reallocate Linden Hills Neighborhood Council funds to finance the development of the plan. Topics to be covered include:

• What is a small area plan and what is the process to develop the plan?
• What is the need for a small area plan in Linden Hills?
• What is the proposed scope of the plan?
• What are the roles of the City, LHiNC, the small area plan steering committee and the public?
• What is the estimated cost of the plan? What LHiNC funds could be used or reallocated to finance the development of the plan?  What would be the impact of reallocating these funds?
