Woman, 56, Dies In Single-Car Crash Off Hiawatha Avenue

Conditions were snowy and icy at the time of the incident, officials said.

MINNEAPOLIS — A 56-year-old Minneapolis woman died Monday night in a single-car crash off of Hiawatha Avenue. Conditions were snowy and icy at the time of the incident, officials said.

At about 10:15 p.m., the woman was driving a Toyota Corolla on the ramp from westbound Hiawatha to northbound Interstate 35W when she lost control of the vehicle.

The car slid over the guardrail and into the bridge pillar, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
