Cops n' Coats: Dog Wore One in Parked Car, Woman Left Hers in Unmarked 'Cab'

She told police she forgot her coat in unmarked 'Silver Ride' taxi from No Neck Tony's. Meanwhile, a seasonally attired dog in a Jetta parked outside a bar seemed OK.

"Don't forget to wear your coat." In separate incidents in separate vehicles Sunday, a woman neglected that timely advice but a dog did not, according to Stillwater police reports.

Woman's Coat AWOL after Unmarked Cab Ride
The woman complained to Stillwater police at about 3:45 p.m. that she had lost her coat while taking a "Silver Ride" taxi from No-Neck Tony's in the wee hours of Sunday morning. Police found a van with no markings other than a small piece of paper on the dashboard saying something like "Silver Ride." The driver, a white male in his 20s or 30s, told the officer he was with a nonprofit organization by that name that gives rides for donation only. The officer told the woman this didn't sound legitimate, and she was going to call No-Neck Tony's and ask around for the coat.

How Warm Is That Doggie in the Jetta?
At around 8 p.m., Stillwater police received a complaint about a dog left in a parked car outside Patriots Tavern. The responding officer reported: "Upon arrival located vehicle ... w/ a dog inside that was wearing a coat. Dog was obviously not in distress and was fine. Cleared."
