Girl, 2, 'Stable' After She Was Run Over By Mom's SUV: Sheriff

CITY OF RAMSEY, MN — A 2-year-old girl is in stable condition after she was run over by an SUV at an elementary school, the Anoka County Sheriff's Office said.

On Wednesday at about 9:15 a.m., emergency crews responded to Brookside Elementary in the city of Ramsey.

Authorities say that a woman driving an SUV was dropping her children off at school when her two-year-old child opened the rear door and fell under the vehicle.

The SUV ran over the child before the woman stopped, according to investigators.

The girl was taken by helicopter to a local hospital, where medical staff stabilized her, the sheriff's office said.

The Ramsey Police Department and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating the incident.
