Kidnapping, Robbery At Gunpoint Reported In East Twin Cities Metro: Suspects At Large
Investigators say the incident was not random, and suspects are believed to have left the area.
GRANT, MN — The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says a reported kidnapping connected to a robbery at gunpoint Friday afternoon in Grant was not a random act, and the suspects are believed to no longer be in the area.
At about 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, deputies responded to a 911 call in the 7300 block of Inwood Way North. Three victims were found at the scene and were not injured, authorities said.
Witnesses described the suspects as two Black men with black dreadlocks, about 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, wearing black and brown clothing.

The Washington County SWAT team searched the area Friday evening, and Mahtomedi after-school activities were canceled as a precaution.
As of Saturday, the Sheriff’s Office, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and the FBI continue to investigate.

"Based on our investigation, we believe this was not a random act, and the suspects are no longer in the area," the sheriff's office said in a statement.
Deputies remain in the neighborhood as the investigation continues. Anyone with information or security camera footage related to the incident is asked to call 911.
