News Brief: City Requesting Bids For Pedestrian Walkway

Community Development Director Bill Turnblad hopes to bring all bids before the city council on Oct. 4.

The City of Stillwater approved the plans and specifications of a new pedestrian walkway at Tuesday’s city council meeting.

Community Development Director Bill Turnblad also asked for approval to move forward with issuing a request for bids on the project.

The walkway will run perpendicular to the St. Croix River on the north end of Lowell Park. It will connect Main Street near Commercial to the riverfront and eventually lead to the new parking garage next to the Lowell Inn on Second Street.

The Council approved that motion as well.

Turnblad hopes to bring all official bids back to the city council meeting on Oct. 4.
