Schools Closed, Flakes Continue to Fall: Post Your Photos of Snow Day in Stillwater

Schools were closed, plows were out and snow was still falling Tuesday morning in the Stillwater area.

The city had been under a winter storm advisory from the National Weather Service, and snow was steady at about 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 5.

Classes were canceled Tuesday in District 834, as was the Varsity and Friends Concert at the high school.

A notice from Stillwater Area Schools:

Due to weather conditions, all Stillwater Area Public Schools are be closed today and alll activities cancelled. This included the special Varsity and Friends concert this evening.

The snow was expected to taper off, but continue throughout the day Tuesday. According to the National Weather Service:

Today: Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 29. North wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.

Tonight: Scattered flurries before 9pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 9. North wind 5 to 10 mph.
