Stillwater Boys Lacrosse Team Finishes 3rd At State Tournament

STILLWATER, MN — The Stillwater Area High School boys lacrosse team ended its season on a high Saturday by winning third place in the Class A state tournament.
A 15-10 loss on Thursday to Benilde-St. Margaret’s in the state semifinal round dropped the Ponies into the third-place game against Centennial High School.
Stillwater, the No. 4 seed in the tournament, took down Centennial 11-9 on Saturday to finish as the third best boys lacrosse team in Minnesota.

Senior Carter Bies registered five assists to tie a state-tournament record, while adding two goals for the Ponies, according to the Minnesota State High School League. Stillwater senior Thomas Lindberg and junior Tomas Anderson each scored three goals to help their team to a close victory, MSHSL statistics show.
