Stillwater Police To Conduct Review Of Operations, Staffing: Chief

A community meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Stillwater Police Department.

STILLWATER, MN — The Stillwater Police Department is set to undergo a “comprehensive” review that will “help shape how the (department) carries out its public safety mission for the future,” Police Chief Brian Mueller said.

National consulting firm BerryDunn will conduct the “thorough” review, which could take up to five months, Mueller said.

BerryDunn will analyze the police department’s operations, staffing and personnel deployments through individual and group discussions with employees, stakeholders and community members, according to the chief.

The firm is scheduled to hold its first community meeting from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Stillwater Police Department, 216 4th St. N.

BerryDunn will also solicit online feedback from residents through a link on the department’s website and its social media pages, Mueller said.

The review by BerryDunn is being conducted to provide recommendations for operational practices and “to help shape how the Police Department carries out its public safety mission for the future,” Mueller said.
