Stillwater Veterans Memorial To Host Veterans Day Ceremony

STILLWATER, MN — The Stillwater Veterans Memorial is set to host a Veterans Day ceremony Thursday to honor all who have served in the U.S. armed forces.
The 40-minute ceremony is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the memorial, 138 Pine St. West. The event will feature music and a guest speaker, according to a posting.

The Stillwater Veterans Memorial was built in 2004 to honor and remember veterans in the area.
Veterans Day, commemorated each year on Nov. 11, was first celebrated in 1919 to honor those who fought in World War I. It was initially called Armistice Day and was renamed Veterans Day in 1954.
