Twinkle Weekend To Light Up Downtown Stillwater

Holiday festivities in downtown Stillwater on Saturday include a "Twinkle Party" and the annual tree-lighting ceremony at 5 p.m.

STILLWATER, MN — Stillwater is set to ring in the Christmas season this weekend with the annual tree-lighting ceremony on Saturday the highlight of Twinkle Weekend.

Twinkle Weekend starts Friday night, with Victorian carolers performing downtown from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and again from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The festivities continue Saturday evening with a “Twinkle Party” starting at 4 p.m. in North Lowell Park. Santa is scheduled to arrive on a fire truck around 4:30 p.m. before the city holds its Christmas tree-lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. in Chestnut Plaza.

Fireworks will follow the tree-lighting, according to the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce.

Twinkle Weekend is part of the chamber’s Hometown for the Holidays event, which features holiday-themed events each weekend leading up to Christmas. “Candy Town Weekend” is next on the event calendar, with a gingerbread house-building contest scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Dec. 11 at Water Street Inn.
