Volunteers Needed To Take Washington Co. Veterans To Appointments
Volunteers receive driver training from the Veterans Administration and can drive as much or little as they prefer, officials said.
WASHINGTON COUNTY, MN — Washington County officials are seeking volunteers to drive veterans to their medical appointments.
The Washington County Veterans Services office provides veterans with free rides to appointments at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center but needs residents to volunteer as drivers to “ensure veterans receive vital medical care,” county officials said in a news release.

Volunteers receive driver training from the Veterans Administration and can drive as much or little as they prefer, officials said. Volunteer drivers transport veterans to appointments using vans provided by the Disabled American Veterans.
The DAV has two vans in Washington County, with one parked at the Government Center in Stillwater and the other parked at the transit center in Forest Lake, the release states.
