Globe University Announces Tuition Cuts, Measures to Make College More Affordable

Globe University and Minnesota School of Business announced today that it is instituting several measures designed to make college more affordable for students at the schools numerous campuses in three states.

The multifaceted initiative is designed to help the schools’ students attend college and graduate with less debt.

According to Globe’s chief communications officer, Jeff Myhre, “We’ve gone beyond cutting tuition with this initiative — although that’s included — by looking at a number of areas where we can reduce costs for students. We lowered textbook costs by launching digital books, we’re awarding more scholarships, and we’re offering more accelerated degrees and continuing to grant credit for transfer classes and work experiences.”

The network of schools award approximately $10 million annually in scholarships and grants. On average, students receive $11,000 in scholarships, grants and other forms of aid over the course of their degree programs.

Globe University and Minnesota School of Business accept credits transferred from other accredited intuitions. They also encourage students to apply for credit for previous work experience. Both of these awards can save students several thousand dollars and reduce the time required to earn their degree.

Tuition decreases for the schools will go into effect next quarter, which begins July 15.

Campuses affected by the cost savings initiative include in Minnesota; Blaine, Brooklyn Center, Elk River, Lakeville, Minneapolis, Moorhead, Plymouth, Richfield, Shakopee, St. Cloud, and Woodbury. In Wisconsin; Appleton, Eau Claire, Green Bay, La Crosse, Madison East, Madison West, and Wausau. And in South Dakota; Sioux Falls. Online students through Globe and Minnesota School of Business will also receive the cost savings.
