We all know them, we all need them, and now it’s time for our community to meet them! Who are they? They are the outstanding volunteers who work among us every day on the causes they care about.
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2013 Community Involvement Awards program honoring exemplary volunteers in Washington County.

Community Involvement Awards serve to spotlight volunteers active in the community as a demonstration of the power of volunteerism.
Community Involvement Awards recognize volunteers through five award categories: Lifetime, Outstanding, Youth, Group, and Legacy.

Nominees can be single volunteers, a volunteer partnership, a group of volunteers, young or old, or even be recently deceased. Nominees are residents of Washington County and meet the specific criteria for each award category.
Anyone in the community (that’s you!) may nominate a worthy volunteer for recognition!
Local non-profits, service organizations, school based programs and faith based organizations are encouraged to submit nominations.

Nominations are due by 5:00 pm on Friday, March 8, 2013.
The Washington County Board of Commissioners and Community Thread are collaborative sponsors of the annual Community Involvement Awards.
National Volunteer Week is observed from April 21 - April 27, 2013. The Community Involvement Awards Ceremony will take place during a Washington County Commissioners meeting in April in conjunction with National Volunteer Week.
Community Thread is a non-profit human service agency connecting people and enriching lives in Washington County and Western Wisconsin since 1967. Community Thread programs include the Stillwater and Bayport Senior Centers, the Volunteer Center, Transportation, Medical Reserve Corps and the Holiday Bureau.
