From Woodbury's Math and Science Academy:
The Fighting Calculators Robotics Team recently returned from the World Championships held in St Louis, Missouri.
Four hundred teams played in groups of 100, each on separate fields. MSA played on Galileo. The winning alliances (a group of three teams) on each of the four fields then played for the World Championship in a final event.

After two days of match competition, the Fighting Calculators advanced to and won their quarter finals matches, won their semi-finals matches and then battled in the FINAL match on Galileo before losing to the team that went on to win the entire competition!
It was amazing and the kids preformed as well as the robot!

We had more than 80 people connected with the Fighting Calculators including some MSA families, with no kids on the team — yet, who flew to St Louis JUST to see the tournament! The kids should be super proud and THANKS to all those people who helped make it happen.
Lifetime memories, plus more medals and a neat trophy!
Making it to the division finals means we (MSA) were one of only 24 teams that were still playing (1 of 8 alliances) at that time.
Given the fact that there were 2,548 teams (in 16 countries) this year, we were in the top 1% (or 99.06th percentile).
Congratulations to the Fighting Calculators!
