The Sam’s Club National BBQ Tour will spice things up in Woodbury this weekend.
The event, set for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 13, will feature barbecue demonstrations, tips and giveaways from sponsors and pros, and free samples of Sam’s Club meats. The event is open to the public.
Now in its third year, the Sam’s Club National BBQ Tour brings together barbecue enthusiasts in 25 local events and five regional finals, culminating in the National Championship at the headquarters of Sam’s Club in Bentonville, Ark.

The total prize purse for the competition, sanctioned and judged by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, is $500,000.
“Each of our world-class competitive teams knows the best barbecue starts with premium fresh meat,” series director Troy Black, a cookbook author, said in a release. “Having quality chicken, ribs, pork and brisket from Sam’s Club on the smoker sets the stage for a mouth-watering competition.”
