Woodbury Files Lawsuit Against Former Firefighter

Officials say the man is violating trademark regulations by using unauthorized city photos on his nonprofit company's website.

The city of Woodbury filed a lawsuit late last week against a former firefighter who officials say is inaccurately identifying himself on a website for a company he's started.

The suit alleges that William Braun's inclusion of a photo of himself in a firefighter uniform marked with "Woodbury Firefighter" and similar other marketing materials featured on his EdQuest, Inc., website is a form of false advertising, consumer fraud and trademark infringement, given that he no longer works as a firefighter in the city, said a Pioneer Press article featured on twincities.com.

The image is reportedly property of the city and was used without officials' permission.

Braun resigned as a paid, on-call firefighter in October 2015, the story says. He contends that he remains a licensed firefighter living in Woodbury.
