Woodbury Leadership Academy (WLA) is a tuition-free, K-12 public charter school where high expectations and success matter to all! Our learning environment and school community promotes academic achievement for students in grades K-12, as well as personal integrity, equity and a dedication to value and serve others. Our school is committed to our students’ long term success. We use inquiry based learning by teaching the Core Knowledge Curriculum — building strong skills in math, reading, writing, history, science and technology. We also have a strong character education program to ensure students develop exceptional leadership skills. The character education program includes service learning projects and a focus of five core virtues - respect, responsibility, perseverance, gratitude and humanity. WLA uses the rigorous and classical Core Knowledge Curriculum to build strong foundational knowledge across subjects, promoting academic excellence and equity. By ensuring all students share common knowledge, we can narrow achievement gaps and build critical thinking and long-term success. One vehicle was flipped on its side but no one was hospitalized following a two-car crash Thursday night along Valley Creek Road in Woodbury.The crash happened at about 8:10 p.m. June 13 after a driver heading eastbound on Valley Creek Road hit a car heading south on Interlachen Parkway, said Michelle Okada, Woodbury Public Safety spokeswoman.The motorist traveling on Interlachen had the green light; the other driver was cited for failure to yield, Okada said.There was a passenger in each car and people were treated on the scene but not transported to a hospital. Both vehicles were towed. A witness called in the crash.
