Fundraiser for Mark Mann at New Life Academy of Woodbury
The 25-year-old lost his legs below the knee in a Wisconsin boating accident in June.

A fundraiser for Mark Mann, the 25-year-old who grew up in Woodbury and lost his legs below the knee after a June 16 boating accident in Wisconsin, is set for Friday, Aug. 9.
“It’s simply a miracle that I’m alive,” Mann told Patch in a July interview. “When I look back on that, it’s hard not to be positive.”
The event will be held at New Life Academy in Woodbury, where Mann went to school.

Set for 6-9 p.m., the fundraiser will include live music, a silent auction, food, games and a presentation from Mann about his story. The event is open to the public.
All money raised will go toward covering medical and living expenses involved with his prosthetic legs.

As of Monday, Aug. 5, $20,170 had been raised toward the $100,000 goal.
