Woodbury Leadership Academy (WLA) is a tuition-free, K-12 public charter school where high expectations and success matter to all! Our learning environment and school community promotes academic achievement for students in grades K-12, as well as personal integrity, equity and a dedication to value and serve others. Our school is committed to our students’ long term success. We use inquiry based learning by teaching the Core Knowledge Curriculum — building strong skills in math, reading, writing, history, science and technology. We also have a strong character education program to ensure students develop exceptional leadership skills. The character education program includes service learning projects and a focus of five core virtues - respect, responsibility, perseverance, gratitude and humanity. WLA uses the rigorous and classical Core Knowledge Curriculum to build strong foundational knowledge across subjects, promoting academic excellence and equity. By ensuring all students share common knowledge, we can narrow achievement gaps and build critical thinking and long-term success. Washington County will pay an Oakdale business $52,525 next year to move and recycle electronics collected at the Environmental Center in Woodbury. The county <a href="http://www.co.washington.mn.us/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Agenda/11262013-277" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Board of Commissioners approved a contract with Universal Recycling Technologies</a> on Nov. 26, according to a news release from the county. The contract covers the same amount—$52,525—in 2015 and 2016. The cost of the contract will be funded by the <a href="http://www.co.washington.mn.us/index.aspx?nid=629" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Washington County Environmental Charge</a>, according to the news release. The <a href="https://woodbury.patch.com/listings/washington-county-environmental-center">Environmental Center</a> is open from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays. It is located at 4039 Cottage Grove Drive, Woodbury. <a href="http://www.urtrecycles.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Universal Recycling</a> has locations in Oakdale and Janesville, WI, with headquarters in Janesville. There are additional sites in Oregon, Texas, Michigan, New York and New Hampshire. "The (Environmental Center) accepts household hazardous waste, electronics, and recyclables," according to the news release. "The center also has a Free Product Room, in which residents may browse the shelves and take home previously owned products such as paint, stain, automotive supplies, household cleaners, and other products."

The Washington County Board of Commissioners approved a contract with Universal Recycling Technologies for items collected at the Environmental Center.
