Woodbury Leadership Academy (WLA) is a tuition-free, K-12 public charter school where high expectations and success matter to all! Our learning environment and school community promotes academic achievement for students in grades K-12, as well as personal integrity, equity and a dedication to value and serve others. Our school is committed to our students’ long term success. We use inquiry based learning by teaching the Core Knowledge Curriculum — building strong skills in math, reading, writing, history, science and technology. We also have a strong character education program to ensure students develop exceptional leadership skills. The character education program includes service learning projects and a focus of five core virtues - respect, responsibility, perseverance, gratitude and humanity. WLA uses the rigorous and classical Core Knowledge Curriculum to build strong foundational knowledge across subjects, promoting academic excellence and equity. By ensuring all students share common knowledge, we can narrow achievement gaps and build critical thinking and long-term success. WLA is a public school with a private school feeling. WLA students wear school uniforms to promote equality, reduce peer pressure, and minimize distractions. Small class sizes at WLA allow for teachers and staff to provide personalized instruction, build strong relationships, and increase student engagement. Children who need their immunizations updated before the start of the upcoming school year can head to clinics being offered by the <a href="http://www.co.washington.mn.us/index.aspx?NID=471" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Washington County Department of Public Health and Environment</a>. The clinics are for school-age children who do not have medical insurance, or those whose medical insurance does not cover the cost of immunizations. A $12 administration fee is requested for each immunization, but no one who is eligible for these clinics will be turned away if they are unable to pay.The clinics are set for:<ul><li>Monday, Aug. 26: Cottage Grove Service Center, WIC Clinic, 13000 Ravine Parkway, Cottage Grove. By appointment only, 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. Call 651-430-4036 to schedule an appointment.</li><li>Wednesday, Aug. 28: Washington County Government Center, fourth floor WIC Clinic, 14949 62nd St. N., Stillwater.
