Winter Storm Warning Issued For Friday In Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MN — The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Washington County on Friday, with heavy snow set to hit the area.

The winter storm warning is set to last from noon Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday. Forecasters had previously issued a winter storm watch for Washington County and much of southern Minnesota.

The National Weather Service said much of the region could see 6-8 inches of snow Friday, with some areas receiving up to 12 inches of snowfall.

Forecasters are warning that traveling could be “very difficult,” especially during the Friday evening commute. Visibility is expected to be poor due to winds blowing snow, the NWS said.

There is a 100 percent chance of precipitation Friday in Washington County, according to forecasters.
