A synopsis of The Music Man from Woodbury Community Theatre:

With book, lyrics and music by Meredith Wilson, “The Music Man” is set in River City, Iowa and recounts the story of con man “Professor” Harold Hill as he poses as a boys’ band organizer and sells band instruments to unsuspecting townsfolk before hoping to skip town with the cash. Prim librarian, Marian Paroo, is on to his scheming ways, but falls for the charming man after he helps her younger brother Winthrop overcome his fear of speaking to others due to a lisp. In the end, Harold Hill must choose between love and money. Which will it be?

A-Maiz-Ing Service project

Woodbury Community Theatre will collect “all things corn” at each of its 6 performances of The Music Man.

The group asks people to be creative: Corn Flakes, corn bread muffin mix, corn tortilla chips, canned corn, popcorn, etc. However, people are asked to bring nonperishable items (no corn on the cob). Cash donations will also be accepted.

Donations benefit Woodbury area food shelves.
