Woodbury Man Accused Of Sharing Child Porn Soon After Conviction

Michael Flynn, 29, was convicted in May on four felony counts of possessing child pornography, Hennepin County court records show.

WOODBURY, MN — A Woodbury man convicted in May of possessing child pornography is facing four new charges after police alleged they found more than 450 files containing child sexual abuse on his computers.

Michael Flynn, 29, was arrested in October after police searched his home in the 3400 block of Juliet Drive, according to a criminal complaint. He was charged with four counts of possessing child pornographic work depicting a victim under 14 as a registered predatory offender.

Flynn was booked into the Washington County jail in Stillwater after his arrest.

Woodbury police searched Flynn’s home on Oct. 28 after Washington County detectives told them a resident was sharing child pornography online as recently as Sept. 24, the complaint states.

The complaint alleges county detectives downloaded several files of child pornography that were uploaded to a website from an IP address linked to Flynn’s home. Those downloads included 469 files with images of child sexual abuse, police allege.

After his arrest, Flynn admitted to police that he downloaded and viewed child pornography and “asked if he could plead guilty and save everyone time,” according to the criminal complaint against him.

Flynn was convicted in May on four counts of possessing child pornography, Hennepin County court records show. He was on probation for those convictions when he was arrested by Woodbury police, the complaint states.

Flynn also had an active warrant issued by Wadena County for a probation violation, according to the complaint.
