Woodbury Roadwork Update: Construction Coming Soon

Meanwhile, East Ridge High School sent out a notice about the work's impact on traffic.

It’s feeling like that old saying about Minnesota having two seasons is true…

The city of Woodbury on Monday sent out an updated schedule for this year’s roadwork projects, noting that drivers should expect delays, especially during rush hours.

East Ridge

East Ridge High School on Tuesday sent out the following:

Effective April 18, significant road construction will take place on city and county roads that provide access to the ERHS campus. This construction will continue through July, and will prohibit access to campus from select access points. Please see detailed directions below for campus-specific traffic changes on the ERHS website at http://www.sowashco.k12.mn.us/ERHS/Parents/RoadConstrInfo/RoadCostru.asp

Over 1,000 vehicles access the ERHS campus on a typical school day. Your cooperation with the traffic changes, in accordance with your patience and flexibility, is appreciated. Campus and community staff members will be on site and visible at select roundabouts in order to assist as they are able. Please make necessary adjustments to your travel time expectations to and from East Ridge.

Access Summary

There will be no access from the west, via Hargis Parkway.

All campus traffic will be routed from the north, via Pioneer Drive.

Campus Access Directions

There are four primary groups of vehicles and drivers, including school busses, student drivers, school staff, and parent/guardians. In order to best manage the diverse needs of all parties, each group is asked to follow a specific route to and from campus. All vehicles will be asked to “loop” their route to and from campus. Please see explicit directions, as well as group-specific visual maps with arrows posted online at www.sowashco.k12.mn.us/ERHS

Student Drivers

Enter the student parking lot through the access road next to the tennis courts, to the west of the stadium.

Exit to the south/east corner of the student parking lot and go around the stadium before proceeding north on Pioneer.

Parent/Guardians

Enter campus either (1) through the access road next to the tennis courts, in between the gold fields, to the west of the stadium or (2) continue east around the stadium and then travel south to access the parent drop-off and pickup curve at the main entry.

Exit to the south/east and go around the stadium before proceeding north on Pioneer.

School Busses

Enter campus by traveling east around the stadium and then travel south to access the school bus lot.
