Woodbury Woman Accused of Imprisoning Nanny was 'Quiet and Kept to Herself'

Lili Huang was not one to make waves in her Woodbury community, neighbors said this week.

Neighbors of a 35-year-old Woodbury woman who allegedly starved and imprisoned her nanny described her this week as someone who was, "extremely quiet and mostly kept to herself."

Lili Huang was charged July 15 with several felonies including labor trafficking, assault and false imprisonment, according to the Woodbury Bulletin, which reported accusations that she attacked and starved a 58-year-old woman who worked for her. She was arrested following investigations by several area police departments and officials from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

"Elizabeth Allen, who lives next door to Huang, said she never saw another woman with the Huang's children," the Woodbury Bulletin said. "'It's so weird that the kids were never outside β€” nobody's ever outside there,' Allen said. 'The part about the nanny was shocking because we literally never saw her.'"

Other residents of the neighborhood echoed Allen's shock, saying they were "extremely surprised" and that Huang didn't interact with others.
