You Can Now Find Gas Below $3 In The Twin Cities
Gas prices continue to drop, thanks in part to lower demand and a quiet hurricane season, says AAA.
HASTINGS, MN — Gas prices continue to slowly drop in Minnesota after hitting an all-time high of $4.75 back in June. One gas station in Hastings is even selling it for less than $3 a gallon.
According to GasBuddy, LittleDukes — located at 225 33rd Street West — is selling fuel for $2.96 per gallon.
That's well below Minnesota's current statewide average, which according to AAA, is sitting at $3.69. The national average is $3.77.

Dropping gasoline demand and a quiet hurricane season are credited with driving prices lower, AAA said.
"According to weather analysts, it’s the first time in 25 years that a named Atlantic storm did not develop in August. That’s the good news," said Andrew Gross, an AAA spokesperson.

"But we still have another month of peak hurricane season, and these storms can affect gas prices by disrupting oil production and refining."
