Jones College Dining Celebrates End of Semester with Splash Event
Jones Dining Services by Sodexo arranged a delicious cookout-themed dinner for attendees
Jones College recently wrapped up the semester with an exciting and memorable event, the End of Semester Splash, held on April 16th.
Student Services organized a celebration on the practice field, drawing in around 200 enthusiastic students to mark the conclusion of the semester and honor the Class of 2024. The Bobcat Brigade, always proactive in supporting students, had a table set up to provide fall enrollment resources to those returning for the next semester, ensuring a smooth transition for everyone.
Jones Dining Services by Sodexo arranged a delicious cookout-themed dinner for all attendees. Hamburgers and hotdogs were prepared outside on the Jones Alumni grill trailer. The spread also featured a toppings bar, freshly made corn dogs, and nachos. Additionally, their partners at Hattiesburg Coca-Cola provided a drink trailer for use. This helped ensure the drinks were cold and easily accessible.

In addition to the culinary delights, Student Services brought in inflatable water slides, adding a refreshing twist to the festivities. The students had a blast bouncing, competing, and splashing around on the enormous play equipment.
Music played a pivotal role in setting the energetic atmosphere, thanks to the dynamic beats curated by DJ Pretty Peech. Their lively tunes kept the crowd engaged and energized, with spontaneous dance sessions breaking out during the event.

Reflecting on the event's success, Elizabeth Brunet, Marketing Coordinator for Sodexo at Jones College, emphasized the importance of such gatherings. "It is important to provide these opportunities for students to unwind and have fun, especially as they gear up for exams. Engaging activities relieve stress and foster a sense of community among our students," said Brunet.
One of the attendees, Aliyah Watts, a sophomore, and on-campus resident at Jones College, shared her enthusiasm for the event. "I really enjoyed seeing how many people were at the event having a good time while eating, dancing, and enjoying the slides. I'm so grateful to study at a place that allows us to take a step back from our busy schedules for moments like these!"
According to organizers, the End of Semester Splash was a resounding success, bringing together students, faculty, and staff to celebrate another successful semester.
