Jones College Unveils New Student Union with WPS Starbucks and More

In a celebration marked by culinary delights and a lively atmosphere, Jones College recently held a ribbon-cutting event to showcase the completion of extensive renovations to its student union in Ellisville, Mississippi.

The union now features a WPS Starbucks, Bird N Brine Chicken Kitchen, The Grill, and Auditions food and drink products.

The grand opening event, which followed seven months of renovations, provided students and staff with a sneak peek into the new and exciting offerings now available at the union. Attendees were treated to a free trial run of the new foods and beverages to be featured.

The WPS Starbucks Hot and Cold Beverage Stations took center stage, offering a variety of Starbucks Coffee, Starbucks Tea, and refreshing Infused Water. Sweet delights included Cake Pops, Mini Cupcakes designed like mini Starbucks drinks, and self-serve mini scones, setting a delightful tone for the event.

Pinwheel versions of the Simply To Go Turkey Club Wrap were passed by servers. Baristas added a touch of magic by sampling Strawberry Acai Refreshers, a hot White Chocolate Mocha, and the bold Nitro Cold Brew coffee, showcasing the diverse flavors Jones College Dining now has to offer.

The Bobcat Grill and Bird N'Brine sections featured their Mini Chicken and Waffle skewers, a combination of chicken bites and waffle fries, which were warmly received by guests. The Auditions storefront counter space transformed into a dynamic self-serve chip, salsa, and guacamole bar, featuring two variations of the new Quesera quesadillas – a flavorful chicken enchilada and a satisfying vegetarian option.

Amidst the celebration, Jones College President Jesse Smith expressed excitement about the renovations, highlighting the importance of providing students with a vibrant space to hang out between classes and foster campus life. The new booths and tables added a modern touch to the union, further enhancing the overall experience for students.

President Smith also revealed plans for additional enhancements, including the addition of another sitting area and pool tables, creating a dynamic and engaging environment for the college community.

The success of the Grand Opening was further amplified by the college's collaboration with Student Services, promising exciting weekly events at the Union. "Union Unplugged" on Thursdays at WPS Starbucks and Tuesday game nights will add a social and entertaining dimension to the student experience.
