• City board votes 2–0 to oppose statewide school choice efforts (vicksburgpost.com) — Vicksburg’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen has formally come out against statewide school choice proposals, passing a 2–0 resolution urging lawmakers to reject vouchers and similar programs that could shift funds from Vicksburg Warren School District. City leaders say public education is a “public good” and want state officials to fully fund local public schools, support teachers, and keep public dollars in public classrooms.
