Fox Girl Scouts Beautify the Rec Center

The project was to help them celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts.

The Girl Scouts will be 100 years old on March 12, and nine scouts from ’s Troop 2185 are working toward a patch to commemorate the anniversary.

The theme is to go green, and Operation Brightside donated 100,000 tulip bulbs to the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri. Troop 2185 got 500 of those.

The Arnold Girl Scouts called the Parks and Recreation department for a suggestion of where to plant their bulbs, and ended up at the Arnold Recreation Center last Sunday.

β€œThe weather was gorgeous, the ground wasn’t frozen, and the ground was recently mulched so it was easy to dig,” troop leader Julia Polson said.
