Jefferson County Sheriff Citizens Academy Set
Citizen police academies in Jefferson County provide information about law enforcement techniques and insight into the functions of the police and sheriff's departments.

A "citizen's academy" with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department is being organized to provide residents with a better understanding of the department and to provide information about various law enforcement techniques.
The purpose of the βSheriffβs Citizens Academyβ is to promote a better understanding between citizens and the Sheriffβs Office through education, according to to Sheriff Glenn Boyer.Β Course topics include different aspects of police work, ranging from administrative functions, narcotics, investigations, tactical teams, firearms, jail functions, traffic & road patrol, and K-9.Β Β
