What Should Go Here? Comments: Popeyes, Planet Fitness, Doughnuts and More

Arnold Patch asked its readers what businesses they'd like in available spaces in town. Here are some comments made on Patch and on another site the article ran on.

On Feb. 15 Arnold Patch ran an article . Four readers made comments to the article on Patch.

By chance, one of the photos was of a lot in Arnold Commons, next to , that the city council was about to vote on to approve a new business. That business was approved, but the type of business ihasn't been disclosed.

Another website, that aggregates news and comments, called Topix, also ran the article, and garnered nine additional comments.

What ever happened to the sporting goods store that was going into the old K-mart building? Wasn't there a lawsuit pending because they tried to back out of an agreement?

Some years ago there was talk of building a Red Lobster in Arnold. What happened to that?

Planet Fitness. They have so much more to offer and better deals than ever has. The closest Planet Fitness is in Ballwin.

No more eating places, please. All carry, unless it’s an all carryout such as Papa Murphy’s Pizza. A health food store would be good such as Supplements 4 Us, GNC or Vitamin World.

We need a donut/bakery at this end of town.

The Queen, Arnold

The donut store closed after four weeks because the owner was not allowed to put a sign near Jeffco stating that she had a business. Yet the next-door neighbor, Excel Signs, parks his big truck next to Jeffco and it's o.k. The laws need to be changed to keep new businesses here. The lady put out a lot of money for only four weeks.

That’s too bad but why only four weeks? She should have ran an ad in the newspaper or posted on Patch (Thanks!) and had specials or coupons.

That is really ashame. I noticed the bakery on my way to work one day. It was a surprise to me. One day it was there and the next gone. I wondered what happened. I also wondered why they didn't run an ad or something so people would know. As for Excel Signs, if you don't give them a big job forget it! They don't take on small jobs. They don't even return your calls. It is too bad for the bakery.
