NEWS RELEASE City Hall will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 4, so crews can repair a broken water line and clean up damages. The building is expected to reopen on Wednesday for regular business hours. An interior water line on the sixth floor broke late Monday afternoon and water has leaked to the lower floors of the 85-year-old building. City employees based at City Hall will work remotely, and most city business, such as applying for permits and paying fees, can be handled online at www.kcmo.gov. All other city facilities will be open according to regular schedules. The 311 Center will operate normally, and don’t forget you can use the myKCMO app to report problems or request city services on the go, from anywhere, on any device. It’s available for free download to your phone or tablet. Type “myKCMO” to find it in the Apple App Store or Google Play. The City Plan Commission will still occur as it is a virtual meeting. Media questions can be directed to media@kcmo.org or Chris Hernandez, City Communications Director, at 816-787-1507.
