Supporters tout tax and housing benefits, while opponents worry about traffic and neighborhood impacts as the project awaits further studies and a final vote.
   

• Illinois man pleads guilty in Missouri to stolen check scheme (kttn.com) — Lee’s Summit police helped stop a multistate check-fraud scheme when bank staff here flagged a suspicious deposit tied to stolen mail and fake IDs. An Illinois man has now pleaded guilty in federal court, with prosecutors saying he tried to move more than $200,000 through fraudulent accounts, including one opened in Lee’s Summit.
