2. Resurrecting the St. Louis fashion industry (thekirkwoodcall.com) — St. Louis’ once-mighty garment district is getting new life from the St. Louis Fashion Fund, which backs local designers and students while trying to keep creative talent in Missouri. 3. Despite failed audit, Mo. jail gets no funds for infrastructure fix (corrections1.com) — St. Louis County’s troubled jail won’t receive any money next year for badly needed infrastructure fixes, despite a failed audit that flagged mold, leaks, failing plumbing and overcrowding. 4. ‘You Could Feel It': Fireball Races Across St. Louis Sky During Meteor Shower (ozarksfirst.com) — An early-morning fireball lit up the St. Louis sky, startling residents with a visible streak and a loud boom tied to the peak of the Quadrantid meteor shower. 5. Former Hillsboro resident works as location scout for Hollywood hits (myleaderpaper.com) — A St. Louis–born location scout who grew up in nearby Hillsboro has returned home in recent years to help film independent movies like “Soul on Fire” and “Chasing Summer” in the city.
