• St. Charles County, MO, Medic Dies after On-Duty Medical Issue (firehouse.com) — St. Charles County residents are mourning Lt. Sarah McCarthy, a 23-year veteran of the St. Charles County Ambulance District who died Dec. 9 after suffering chest pain on duty in St. Peters. Known for her leadership, honor guard service, and work with special needs pediatric patients, she was remembered by district leaders as a tireless advocate for those in need.
   

• Evelyn Edwards (riverbender.com) — A local family with ties to St. Charles is mourning Evelyn J. Edwards, whose daughter, Kathy Fromme, lives in St. Charles. Edwards, 87, passed away at her home in Belleville, Illinois, and is remembered by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. Private family interment is planned, and the family thanks her medical team and hospice caregivers for their support.
