Police: Couple accused of beating, starving, locking up 3 children (local12.com) — St. Charles County police say three children were found living in filthy, unheated conditions with food locked away and alleged physical abuse inside a local home. A months-long investigation led to child endangerment and drug-trafficking charges against the parents, with both now held on substantial cash-only bonds while the children are removed from the situation.
   

2. St. Charles County agency pleads for funding to help unhoused people survive anticipated dangerous cold (ksdk.com) — St. Charles County outreach workers are scrambling to protect roughly 600 unhoused neighbors from dangerous cold, and they’re asking residents to help fund emergency hotel rooms, supplies, and transportation. The county executive has requested $30,000 in emergency shelter funding expected to be approved Monday, while local agencies continue coordinating weather-response efforts that also cover nearby St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren counties.
   

3. Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy: Chapter Two – Saint Charles, MO on St. Louis: Get Tickets Now! (theatermania.com) — An immersive Edgar Allan Poe-themed cocktail night is coming to the Foundry Art Centre in Saint Charles, offering four spooky stories paired with four craft cocktails in a 90-minute experience. Adults 21 and over can choose from multiple dates and times, enjoy ADA-accessible seating, and step into a gothic, storytelling speakeasy that’s already earned rave reviews from past attendees.
   

4. Lutheran Foundation of St. Louis (insidephilanthropy.com) — Nonprofits serving St. Charles County may be eligible for grants from the Lutheran Foundation of St. Louis, which funds health, faith-based, and human services work across the metro area. Awards typically range from $3,000 to $75,000, with applications accepted year-round and formal review cycles in summer and winter for programs helping older adults, immigrants, justice-involved families, and Christian community initiatives.
   

5. Governor Kehoe Announces Five Gubernatorial Appointments (shelbycountyherald.com) — Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe has announced several appointments to the state Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners, including O’Fallon resident Leo Price Sr., who leads St. Charles Barber College. His continued role helps shape training standards that affect local barbers, stylists, and students connected to the St. Charles beauty industry.
