  1. In the aftermath of the 2017 St. Louis protests, the city will face a settlement of almost $10 million owed to the protestors and bystanders. Attorney Bill Freivogel said that the actions of police that night were unlawful, noting that the arrests also included bystanders who got swept up in the line of officers. While the incident is contributing to staffing shortages and challenges in retention, lawmakers hope that these challenges will lead the city to address the matter of police brutality. (STLPR)
  2. Nominated for a 2023 Grammy, native St. Louis artist Cor.ece is being recognized for his contribution to Beyoncé’s latest album, "Renaissance," and for bringing attention to his hometown. Credited on the album as Corece Smith, he is one of the writers for the song β€œCozy.” The album itself is nominated in nine categories, the most of any album nominated this year. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
  3. The Darkness Haunted House is holding its annual "My Bloody Valentine" date night event on Feb. 11. The city's famous haunted house on South Eighth Street is known for its Halloween celebrations, but this spooky date night event is a sellout every year. Tickets are $30 with an optional $10 fast pass add on. They can be purchased here. (Riverfront Times)
