Flood Warning Issued For St. Louis Until Sunday Morning
Up to 6 inches of rain is expected across the St. Louis area by Sunday as the remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon move through the region.

ST. LOUIS, MO β The National Weather Service in St. Louis has issued a flood warning and a flash flood watch for St. Louis from Thursday night until early Sunday morning. The Mississippi River is currently at 13 feet and is expected to crest above flood stage (21 feet) over the weekend. Up to 6 inches of rain is expected in the St. Louis area by Sunday as the remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon move through the region.
The chance of severe thunderstorms is also heightened over the next few days as tropical moisture from Gordon collides with a cold front from the north.

Officials say to never drive on a flooded roadway. It only takes a few inches of water and a slight current to carry a vehicle away. If you encounter standing water, turn around and take an alternate route.
