Tonight at 8:30pm, the moon exhibits a waxing crescent phase and can be found to the West in the constellation of Taurus the Bull, between the Pleiades star cluster and the red star Aldebaran. The crescent moon has been associated with the constellation of Taurus since ancient times. The Sumerians, who worshiped the moon god Nanna, often compared the shape of the crescent moon to the shape of bull’s horns.
