• Burglary call sparks high-speed chase, meth seizure and two arrests in Howell County (ozarksfirst.com) — Two West Plains men were arrested after an alleged burglary near County Road 4210 led to a high-speed chase through Howell County and a large meth and handgun seizure. Deputies say one suspect fled in a vehicle before being stopped with tactical maneuvers, while the other initially ran into the woods. Both are jailed in Howell County on felony charges and significant bonds.
   

• Mother of missing West Plains, Mo., man found dead still hopes for justice 5 years later (ky3.com) — A West Plains mother is still seeking justice five years after her son, Ira Briscoe, disappeared and was later found dead in Howell County. Investigators have ruled his death a homicide and kept the case open, even after the FBI declined to assist. Local authorities are urging anyone with information, even small details, to contact the Howell County Sheriff’s Office.
   

• Missouri State's XBox Bowl appearance special for Ozarks natives Connor Lair and Cooper Roy (sgfcitizen.org) — A former West Plains football standout, Missouri State fullback Connor Lair, is suiting up for the Bears’ first FBS bowl game, the XBox Bowl against Arkansas State in Frisco, Texas. Lair reflects on his comeback from Hodgkin’s lymphoma, his future at MSU, and what this historic moment means for him and other southwest Missouri players.
